Many children have difficulty swallowing capsules or tablets.  Pediatricians and compounding pharmacists can work together to find alternative dosage forms for your child. West Lindfield Pharmacy has the ability to reformulate medications into a variety of other forms, such as flavoured syrups, suspensions, lozenges, and even transdermal creams.

Strength Variations
Standard commercial medications are often only available in dosages too high for a child. As children vary in size and weight, the dose required to treat them also varies.  In addition, some children may require multiple medications, multiple times a day, which is inconvenience for both the child and parent. West Lindfield Pharmacy can help by formulating a medication to the exact dose required, as well as consolidating multiple medications into a single dosage form.

Yummy Flavours
We can flavour lozenges or liquid medications to make them easier for children to take. This is particularly important with medications that need to be taken for an extended period of time.

Preservative-free or Dye-free
Many children cannot tolerate commercially available medications because they often contain preservatives, dyes, alcohol and sugar. At West Lindfield Pharmacy we can design your child’s medication to be free of these ingredients.
